Germany yet to decide on Taurus long-range missile provision to Ukraine – German Defense Ministry

The call Russia intercepted of German officers discussing military aid to Ukraine made it clear that no political decision has been made regarding the provision of Taurus long-range missiles to Kyiv, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said on Tuesday on a trip to Sweden, Reuters reported.
"They kept mentioning during all that phone call that there is no political decision - neither by the chancellor (Olaf Scholz), nor by me, to deploy Taurus (missiles) to Ukraine," Pistorius said at a news conference.
“Germany's allies are not upset after the scandal surrounding the call recorded by the Russians.”
Partners in Washington and London were informed on Monday that it was an individual mistake, the Minister added.
"They are not angry or upset with Germany because they know that we have rules and that things like this can happen," he explained.
The conversation leak between the generals was due to an individual mistake, and did not result from a communication systems hack, Pistorius also said on March 5.
Leaked conversation between German officers: What is known
Russian propagandists published a recording on March 1 in which several German officers were allegedly discussing the supply of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine and how to use them to strike the Crimean Bridge.
The German Defense Ministry launched an investigation, confirming the next day that the conversation intercepted by Russia was genuine.
Berlin announced that it would probe the leak on March 3.
The leaked conversation between the German military was part of Russia's information warfare, Pistorius said the same day.
