France will double the volume of 155mm CAESAR self-propelled artillery systems it produces, French Minister of the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, said on March 24, as reported by French newspaper Les Echos.
“The production rate of Caesar self-propelled 155-mm howitzers by Nexter (company) will be doubled from the current four to eight units per month,” the minister said.
Furthermore, production of Mistral surface-to-air missiles will be doubled to 40 units per month. Lecornu said that the production of ‘Ground Master’ air defense radars will also increase and accelerate to 24 units manufactured annually.
Paris has already transferred 18 Caesar howitzers to Ukraine, before pledging to deliver 12 more.
