Former Wagner mercenary in Norway now wants to go back to Russia

Medvedev, a Russian citizen and former member of Russia’s Wagner Group
private military company, who fled to Norway and sought political asylum there
a few months ago, now wishes to return to Russia, Reuters reported on May 18.
Medvedev commanded one of Wagner units fighting in Ukraine and later crossed the Russian-Norwegian border in January 2023, requesting political asylum in Norway.
“Recently I've decided that I'm ready to go back to the Russian Federation; I've contacted the Russian embassy in Oslo for help, to facilitate my return,” he said in a short video.
The Wagner Group is recognized as a terrorist organization in Ukraine, and Medvedev claims to have fought against the country for four months. There is no official information on any steps Kyiv may take to extradite him.
Medvedev spoke about how Wagnerites kill "defectors" and execute Ukrainian prisoners, as reported by Russian independent outlet Mediazona.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
