A video published by a local monitoring channel shows the moment a Russian drone struck a high-rise building in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district, an attack that injured at least five people.
Russian forces struck a 24-story residential apartment building in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district on September 9. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, firefighters extinguished the blaze and rescued 23 residents from the tower.
The drone directly struck the high-rise between the 11th and 12th floors, sparking a structural fire on the 12th floor and destroying load-bearing walls.
Russian strikes across Kyiv’s Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts ignited two cargo trucks, a garage, and a two-story non-residential building overnight on September 9. Emergency crews managed to extinguish all the fires caused by the attack.
Russian forces launched ballistic and cruise missiles overnight on September 8, followed by multiple drone waves throughout the day. Debris landed in several places and fires broke out across 16 locations in the Solomyanskyi, Darnytskyi, Holosiivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Podilskyi districts. At least five people were killed and 29 others injured.
Russian airstrikes also targeted the headquarters of television channel My-Ukrayina while news staff were actively working. General producer Yuriy Suhak confirmed that the strike was aimed directly at the newsroom, injuring at least six media workers and forcing the channel to temporarily suspend its broadcasting operations.
