Fire Point's FP-1 drones shut down Moscow oil refinery entirely

The Moscow oil refinery in Russia's capital was struck by FP-1 drones, the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point reported, while commenting on the Sept. 20 attack on the facility.
"As a result of the hits, the plant was completely shut down. All primary processing units were damaged, as well as some of the secondary processing units," the company said of the attack's consequences. It added that the gasoline situation at Russian gas stations will keep getting worse.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces says the refinery's AVT-6 primary processing unit, an integrated oil processing unit and an isomerization unit were hit.
The Gazprom Neft Moscow Refinery is one of Russia's largest oil refineries, the General Staff stressed. The plant has a capacity of about 12 million metric tons of oil a year. It refines oil and produces motor gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel, fuel oil, and other petroleum products.
For his part, Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara, commenting on the strike, stressed that the facility is a strategic element of Russia's military-economic machine.
Khmara emphasized that strikes on such enemy facilities undermine Russia's ability to continue the war against Ukraine and supply its troops.
"All our deep and middle strikes are about taking the war to Russian territory," the minister said.
The population of the aggressor state must feel the consequences of the policies of dictator Vladimir Putin, Ukraine's Defense Ministry added.
Earlier on Sept. 20, it was reported that drones attacked Moscow and the surrounding region en masse, causing a large fire at the Moscow refinery in Kapotnya.
A warehouse complex in Moscow Oblast was also hit. In addition, online reports say the TETs-22 combined heat and power plant, which supplies electricity to a significant part of the region, was struck.
According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, Russian air defenses repelled the largest drone attack on the Russian capital. Since yesterday, he said, more than 1,600 drones were allegedly shot down on all lines, 450 of them on the approach to Moscow.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that during the attack on Russia on Sept. 20, the Defense Forces used, among others, the FP-1, RZ-100, MICH-2000, Palianytsia, Vendetta, Liutyi, Bars, Flamingo, Sichen, and Pelican.
