Occupiers in Skadovsk complain about attack
Explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied Skadovsk
in Kherson Oblast on the night of May 18 and 12 people were allegedly injured
in the attack, with Russian propagandist Telegram channels blaming Ukraine for the
incident.
They also published footage of the alleged aftermath of a missile strike.
"A residential building was apparently destroyed by rocket fire," stated head of the occupation administration of the Kherson Oblast, Volodymyr Saldo.
Occupation of Skadovsk by Russians
On February 24, 2022, Russian troops invaded Kherson Oblast from the direction of temporarily occupied Crimea. The city of Skadovsk was abandoned by all units of the Armed Forces, the Military Police, the SBU, and the police, falling under Russian occupation the same day.
On April 6, 2022, after numerous threats from the occupiers for refusing to cooperate, the mayor of Skadovsk, Oleksandr Yakovlev, left the city, informing citizens via his Facebook page.
