Drone delivers humanitarian aid to Ukrainians in occupied left bank of Kherson region - video
Ukraine has transformed its Vampire attack drones to humanitarian purposes after Russia destroyed the Kakhovka dam in Kherson Oblast.
You can see a Ukrainian drone deliver much needed humanitarian aid to those needing it the most in the Russian occupied areas along the left bank of the Dnipro River, as can be seen in this touching video shared on Telegram by Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov.
The Russians have not evacuated the residents of flood-affected areas and do not permit Ukraine the opportunity, said Fedorov.
That’s why the battlefield-scarred Vampire drones were transformed into humanitarian drones, delivering aid to people under Russian occupation.
“Ukraine is fighting every day for the lives of people who are trapped,” he said.
Russian troops destroyed the Kakhovka dam on the night of June 6 after having controlled the facility for over a year. Cities and villages downstream along the Dnipro River were completely or partially flooded.
The Kakhovska Hydroelectric Power Plant has been completely destroyed and cannot be restored, reported Ukrhydroenergo. Ukraine’s South Command said the dam was not entirely destroyed, but the damage is significant.
More than 3,000 people have contacted law enforcement about flooded houses, while 3,761 people have been evacuated from the Kherson and Mykolayiv oblasts as of June 14, said the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As of this morning, the water level in the Kherson Oblast has dropped to almost two meters, while dozens of settlements remain flooded.
