Zaluzhnyi taps Colonel Okhrimenko as new Odesa draft commissioner

Colonel Oleksandr Okhrimenko has replaced Yevhen Borysov as the head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment Center, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valerii Zaluzhnyi reported on Telegram on July 4.
Prior to the appointment, Okhrimenko served as a commander of the 14th mechanized brigade “Prince Roman the Great”.
Zaluzhnyi called him “one of the best military commanders [in Ukraine].”
“Oleksandr is a combat officer who knows the army from the inside out, who clearly understands needs at the front and has repeatedly demonstrated his devotion to the military cause and the homeland,” Zaluzhnyi said.
On April 25, former MP Ihor Mosiychuk claimed that Borysov’s mother, Nadia Borysova, had recently purchased a house worth EUR 4 million ($4.36 million) in Marbella, Spain.
On April 26, Mosiychuk added that Borysov’s wife, Oleksandra Borysova, had also bought an office in Marbella during the ongoing war, reportedly worth EUR 2 million.
Mosiychuk stated that Borysov had imported an expensive Mercedes Benz car as humanitarian cargo in the fall of 2022, adding that Borysov had been in Marbella from Dec. 22, 2022, to Jan. 18, 2023.
In May, the State Bureau of Investigation opened a criminal case against Borysov due to allegations that he had bribed his subordinates to not serve mobilization notices to specific individuals. He was subsequently suspended from his post.
The Ukrainian military’s Operational Command South announced Borysov’s dismissal on June 28.
