A bridge near Tyachiv, in Ukraine’s Zakarpattia
Oblast, collapsed on July 24, injuring five people, including two children,
Zakarpattia regional administration said in a Telegram post.
According to the report, the police received a report of a collapse of a transportation bridge on the Mukachevo-Rohatyn highway in the village of Bedevlya at around 7:00 p.m. on July 24.
Preliminary information suggests that one span of the bridge collapsed while a truck and a car were transiting over it.
All emergency services are already working at the scene. Zakarpattia regional governor, Viktor Mykyta, also arrived at the location.
According to the authorities, the cause of the incident was a truck crossing the bridge that significantly exceeded the permissible load limits.
Due to the bridge collapse, road traffic has been redirected through the following surrounding villages: Kryva - Ternove - Neresnytsia - Vilkhivtsi - Bedevlya.
