ATESH guerrillas set relay cabinet on fire on Russian Rostov-on-Don-Mariupol railroad

In early May, advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, reported that Russians almost completed construction of a railway to connect Rostov-on-Don with Mariupol, where ATESH movement burned a relay cabinet, ATESH reported on Telegram on June 23.
This railway line plays a key role in transfer of military
forces and equipment between different parts of Russia’s Southern Military
District. It also provides access to the sea route.
In April and early May, three test trains were seen going
from the occupied Volnovakha, Donetsk Oblast, to port in Mariupol and back.
They came from Volnovakha with kaolin and ore, which were loaded onto a
Liberian ship that was stolen last year.
Mariupol occupation
In May 2022, after nearly three months of siege and bloody
fighting, Russian troops occupied Mariupol. Before the Russian invasion, this
port city was home to about 450,000 people. During the siege, half of the
residents left, and tens of thousands died.
By the time the last Ukrainian defenders left the Azovstal
steel plant in May and surrendered on the orders of command, Mariupol had
turned from a major industrial center into a ruins.
Financial Times on Feb. 8 reported
that the Russians want to hide traces of their crimes in the captured Mariupol
and show that they are “restoring” the city, but “the reality is very different
from the propaganda.”
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
