The incidence of COVID-19 has surged significantly in Kyiv recently, with an average of about 20 people being hospitalized daily, Valentyna Ginzburg, director of the Kyiv City State Administration’s Health Department, said on July 29.
“As of July 1, there were twenty patients diagnosed with
COVID-19 and one with suspected COVID-19 in the capital’s medical institutions,
this morning (July 29) there are 73 such patients,” she said.
“On average, about 20 people are being hospitalized per day.”
She added that patients are hospitalized only in severe
cases of the disease. According to her, there are 18 children among the
seriously ill.
According to the Kyiv City Center for Disease Control and
Prevention, a total of 900 cases of COVID-19 were registered in July, while in
June the number was less than 200. Since the beginning of the year, 52 people
died of the disease in the capital.
Kyiv city administration reminded how to reduce the risk of
coronavirus infection. It is necessary to monitor personal hygiene, wash hands
and use disinfectants, avoid closed rooms with large crowds, ventilate the room
frequently, wet clean your home and working spaces.
