Air defense destroys all Shahed drones approaching Kyiv overnight

Air defense forces successfully shot down all Russian drones heading towards Kyiv, the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA) reported on Telegram on Dec. 20. No casualties or damage have been reported as a result of the attack.
This attacks is the fifth of its kind in December alone, and the second consecutive attack using drones, noted the KMVA.
Preliminary information indicates that the drones used in the attack were of the Shahed type. They approached the capital from the south, flying over the Black Sea and passing through Odesa, Kirovohrad, and Cherkasy oblasts.
Four air raid alerts were declared in Ukraine in connection with the takeoff of MiG-31K fighters on Dec. 14. The Air Force announced the launch of X-47 Kinzhal missiles in the direction of Kyiv, Starokostiantyniv, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, and Sumy Oblast. Explosions were also heard in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
