Ukrainian Armed Forces continue operations on the Melitopol and Bakhmut fronts, 60+ engagements in last day

Russian forces attempted unsuccessfully to advance in the east, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operations on the Melitopol and Bakhmut sectors, as 68 combat engagements on various front sectors took place in the past 24 hours.
The Ukrainian General Staff summarized the 592nd day of full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine on Facebook on Oct. 8.
- Kupyansk sector – 13 enemy attacks repelled in the areas of Synkivka and Ivanivka settlements in Kharkiv Oblast.
- Lyman sector – the Ukrainian Armed Forces thwarted six enemy attacks in the vicinity of the town of Makiyivka in Luhansk Oblast.
- Bakhmut sector – the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost ground near Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast.
- Avdiivka and Maryinka sector – the enemy launched more than 20 unsuccessful attacks in the areas of Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast.
- Shakhtarsk sector – 10 enemy attacks were repelled in the areas of Vodyane and Zolota Niva in Donetsk Oblast.
- Melitopol sector – the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operation and conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Bakhmut sector. Partial successes have been achieved northeast of Andriivka in Donetsk Oblast. The Ukrainian forces are inflicting personnel and equipment losses on the Russian forces, consolidating the newly taken positions on the front lines and exhausting the enemy.
- Kherson sector – Ukrainian defense forces continue to conduct counter-battery operations, destroying depots and successfully targeting the enemy's rear positions.
The Russians continue their terror tactics, shelling densely populated civilian areas.
The enemy carried out eight missile strikes, 34 air raids, 37 rocket attacks, and artillery shelling, resulting in casualties and injuries among civilians, as well as damage to residential buildings and civilian infrastructure.
Ukrainian Air Forces carried out eight strikes on enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment, and five on enemy air defense systems over the past 24 hours. Four enemy UAVs were intercepted.
Ukrainian missile forces struck an artillery system, enemy personnel, and an electronic warfare station.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
