32,000 former Russian prisoners return home after fighting in Ukraine, says Prigozhin

A total of 32,000 former Russian convicts have returned home after participating in Russia's war against Ukraine, Wagner mercenary company owner Yevgeny Prigozhin has claimed on Telegram.
"As of June 18, 2023 about 32,000 formerly convicted persons have returned home after the expiration of their contract," he said, adding that they took part in combat actions in Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts as mercenaries.
Prigozhin claimed that ordinary prisoners’ reoffending rates were much greater than those who served with Wagner.
He said “Wagner convicts” had committed only 83 crimes since finishing their contracts, which he claimed was 80 times fewer crimes than the number committed by ordinary prisoners released from jail over the same period, but who did not serve with Wagner.
Russia's losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion have exceeded 220,000 troops, including 630 occupiers in the past day, the Ukrainian military’s General Staff reported on June 19.
