Kharkiv student take fifth place at the International Young Physicists' Tournament

Students from Kharkiv took fifth place in the 36th International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT) Pakistan 2023, which took place from July 19-25 in Kohsar University Murree, IYPT President Martin Ples reported on Facebook on July 24.
The IYPT is considered one of the most challenging physics tournaments in the world, the Kharkiv City Council reported in a press release. It has taken place annually in different countries since 1988.
The Kharkiv team gained the honor of representing Ukraine after winning the Ukrainian Young Physicists' Tournament this January.
The team was composed of students from Kharkiv lyceum No. 161 "Impulse": graduate Ivan Bortnovskyi, eleventh-graders Anna Belyaeva and Anton Bukhtatyi, and students from Kharkiv’s Physics and Mathematics Science Lyceum No. 27: ninth-grader Kyrylo Vladyko and graduate Mykyta Kyrpa.
Impulse's team has returned home with a top finish for the sixth year in a row.
"Despite the distance separating the students who live currently in different countries due to the war in Ukraine, the team managed to prepare well online for the competitions," the Kharkiv Department of Education noted.
