Technical difficulties plague Ukraine’s popular Monobank for over one hour
Monobank, a popular Ukrainian online bank, experienced a glitch that lasted about an hour on Jan. 9, leading to complaints from users about their inability to use the online Monobank app.
The system has been restored as of 9:36 a.m. Kyiv time, the company said.
Monobank co-founder Oleh Horokhovskyi confirmed the technical issue, noting that work was underway to fix it.
"We broke down a little bit. We are fixing it. Sorry," he wrote on Telegram.
Customers also reported problems with the bank's savings service.
After reports of a large-scale failure of the Kyivstar mobile operator on Dec. 12, 2023, Horokhovskyi reported that hackers had launched massive DDoS attacks on the Monobank system.
The cyberattack on the bank was repelled on the same day, he clarified.
