IT companies show increasing activity in job market, despite crisis
Despite the crisis in the Ukrainian IT industry, its companies are currently showing increased activity in the job market, according to Opendatabot’s report on April 6, which cites Djinni, a popular Ukrainian job search platform specializing in IT and tech jobs.
In March, companies posted 15,000 job vacancies, which is 1,500 more than in February, although less than at the end of 2022. The number of active jobseekers also increased to 24,000, up from 21,000 in February.
IT professionals are actively searching for jobs, as evidenced by the record-breaking figure of nearly 327,000 responses to job vacancies in March, surpassing the previous highest response rate of 290,000 observed in January.
The number of proposals from recruiters slightly increased to 79,000, but this may be due to the higher number of working days in March.
Hires increased by 18% in a month, with 1,200 hires reported in March compared to 1,100 in February.
JavaScript developers, QA Automation, DevOps, and Ruby developers were in high demand for recruiters in March.
Interestingly, sales managers currently receive the most responses from employers. In the last week of March, out of the top 10 candidates with the highest number of proposals from recruiters, only two were IT specialists, while the other eight were sales managers.
Earlier, it was reported that GlobalLogic predicted a 10-15% decline in the Ukrainian IT market by the end of this year.
Maks Ishchenko, the founder of the IT job search website Djinni, also believes that the market should prepare for the worst this year.
