X-Men star Liev Schreiber draws world's attention to flooded houses in Kherson

Schreiber is drawing the world's attention to the disaster caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka dam by the Russian troops.

"The Nova Kakhovka Dam in Ukraine, controlled by Russia, has been destroyed,” he wrote.

“One consequence is a humanitarian disaster that, had it not taken place within a war zone, would have already drawn enormous international assistance. Thousands of houses are flooded and tens of thousands of people are evacuating or waiting for rescue. Another consequence is ecological chaos, among other things the loss of wetland and other habitats. A third is the destruction of Ukrainian farmland and other elements of the Ukrainian economy," he said, quoting U.S. historian Timothy Snider.
