The argument began when the two drivers were trying to determine who had the right of way.
During the confrontation, one of the men pulled out a pistol and fired three times toward the other driver before escaping, police said.
One of the bullets struck the 41-year-old victim in the abdomen. He was hospitalized with a gunshot wound, according to law enforcement officials.
Police launched a special operation and alerted all patrol units in the search for the suspect. Investigators later identified a Kyiv resident as the person involved and found him at a country house in Kyiv Oblast, where he had been hiding.
With support from the KORD special police unit, investigators searched the suspect’s residence, detained him and seized a pistol.
The man was charged under Part 4 of Article 296 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code — hooliganism involving the use of an item specially adapted to inflict bodily injury. He faces up to seven years in prison.
