Russian forces capture Yasna Polyana, advance near Kurakhove and Toretsk in Donetsk Oblast – DeepState

The report states that Russian forces have made gains in Maksymivka, near Novoukrainka in the Vremivka sector, as well as in Novodmytrivka near Kurakhove, Druzhba near Toretsk, and around Terny in the Lyman sector.

In its overnight briefing, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that all Russian attacks in the Vremivka and Lyman sectors were repelled. The most intense fighting remains in the Kurakhove sector, where 48 clashes took place within the past day. Defense forces repelled assaults in the areas of Ostrivske, Ilinka, Novoselydivka, Kreminna Balka, Novodmytrivka, Vovchenka, Maksymilianivka, Dalnie, Antonivka, and Katerynivka, according to the General Staff’s report.

Latest developments on the Donetsk frontline

On Oct. 30, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that on some front sections, the ratio of Ukrainian to Russian forces is as high as 1 to 8, forcing the Ukrainian Armed Forces to retreat from certain positions.

On Oct. 31, DeepState reported that Russian forces had captured Selydove, though the Ukrainian General Staff later stated that Defense Forces repelled assaults toward the town.

In the Toretsk sector, Ukraine’s Defense Forces have stabilized the situation, preventing further Russian advances in Toretsk, according to Anastasia Bobovnikova, spokesperson for the Luhansk operational-tactical group. Meanwhile, in Chasiv Yar, Russian forces are attempting to cross a canal to reach the western part of the town.

According to Welt, Russian occupation forces seized 470 square kilometers in eastern Ukraine in October. Estonian intelligence reported that Russian forces captured around 150 square kilometers in Donetsk Oblast over the past week.

On Nov. 1, Bloomberg reported that Russia had gained more territory in eastern Ukraine last week than during any other period in 2024, with more than 200 square kilometers added to the areas seized during Russia’s summer offensive. Sources cited by the publication indicated that Kyiv may be forced to accept peace on unfavorable terms.
