One third of Ukrainians earn far less money than before Russia’s full-scale invasion

40% of working Ukrainians have seen a drop of their income during the full-scale war, with 31% having suffered a significant wage decrease, and another 9% who had a slight decrease in wages. Meanwhile, the income of 15% of Ukrainians has remained the same and 5% have begun to earn more money.

More than one-third of respondents are currently unemployed: 9% of Ukrainians have lost their jobs and are actively looking for a new one, while 5% are neither working, nor looking for work. 26% are unemployed because they are still studying or are retired.

Here is the breakdown of answers to the question, "Has your job and income situation changed since Feb. 24":

• I work and my income has not changed - 15%
• I work and my income has increased - 5%
• I work, my income has decreased, but not significantly - 9%
• I work, but my income has decreased significantly - 31%
• I lost my job and am actively looking for a job - 9%
• Not working and not currently looking for a job - 5%
• I do not work because I am still studying / retired - 26%

Regarding online, offline, or mixed mode of employment, more than half (59%) of respondents said they work exclusively offline. By contrast, 22% of respondents work online. Another 19% of respondents have a hybrid work schedule: they work some days in the office and others from home.
