Hipper condemned the assault as one of the largest since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion and said it clearly showed Moscow’s lack of interest in a ceasefire.
“We witnessed one of the biggest attacks by Russia since the beginning of its war of aggression,” Hipper said. “This massive attack once again demonstrates that Russia is not interested in a ceasefire or ending its aggressive war. As for our support, we continue to stand with Ukraine and its people, and we will increase our assistance.”
Explosions rocked Kyiv in the early hours of July 4 as Russian forces launched a combined drone and missile attack. One person was killed, and 26 others were injured, including a child. Debris fell in five districts of the capital, sparking multiple fires.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russia launched a record-breaking 550 air assault assets against the country—539 drones and 11 missiles. Air defenses successfully intercepted 478 targets.
